Neverwin ... is correct, but I would stay in Ao Nang, if I were you. Loads of hotels vary in price, some nice, others less. I do not type in all Krabi do (dirty and dull) and theres still much to Ao Nang is dynamic just a few miles away.

Hat Railay and Ton Sai Bay are great day trips, Princess Cove, the big rock, only a few baht per boat and missed.

EDIT: We loved Ko Lanta and you could a few days holiday middle of Ko Phi Phi ... about 4 hours by boat from Krabi area.
